2003 Black Mare
2004 Egyptian Event 3rd Place, EBC Fillies

An exotic, striking black mare, Noir Desir is Al Ameen’s first producing brood mare. “Desi” actually made the decision to join our family.  Cheryl was leaning up against a darkened stall door on a very large farm one cold winter morning looking for the perfect Egyptian mare when a warm, soft muzzle slowly nuzzled her ear.  With soft nickers and warm soulful eyes Desi and Cheryl bonded over a cup of tea.  “I didn’t even know if she was for sale, what her name was, or her pedigree, I just knew she was the one we needed to help build our farm and she seemed to know it too”, said Cheryl.   Desi holds a special place in owners Bill & Cheryl’s hearts, her laid back personality and uncanny ability to connect with us is amazing.  She understands how much we care for her and she always shows her love for us.

In April, 2008 Desi delivered her first foal, El Razeel Al Ameen.  “Rascal”  is a handsome black bay gelding by Egyptian Event Supreme Champion Stallion Pimlico RCA.  He is all boy, with a wonderful temperament and great performance conformation.  He is currently training in Dressage and has won at the Intro Level.  We can’t wait to see him continue in his training.

Noir Desir

The rare black Egyptian Arabian is highly prized and sought after, and when we look at Desi, we know why. Not only is she beautiful to behold, but her pedigree is admirable as well. A daughter of the extremely athletic stallion Alixir and the broodmare Desperita, Noir Desir possesses a unique cross of blood including both Ibn El Mareekh and the world-famous broodmare Aliah Halima, granddam to Botswana and Thee Cyclone, who was the star of Disney’s The Young Black Stallion.  At the 2009 Salon Du Cheval Arabe Paris show a magnificent Egyptian–Royal Colours took the blue ribbon in the Senior Stallion class.  He is sired by a Thee Desperado son–True Colors, out of Xtreme Wonder a The Elixir dam.  Desi shares both Thee Desperado and The Elixir in her pedigree and has proved to incorporate these outstanding traits into her foals—El Razeel favors Royal Colours tremondously in his appearance and athleticism!

Desi gave birth to her second foal in May, 2009.  A black filly that is 2-die-4!!  Named Noor Al Noufous (The light of the soul), she is a stunning filly who just sold to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.  Desi’s most recent foal, Jasoorah Al Ameen (Bold and Courageous) has the most beautiful, typey head and is tall and elegant.  She has started her show career with a bang winning the Senior Mare Championship at the Alabama All Arabian Show in March 2013 and then winning at the 2013 Egyptian Event Most Classic Head; Reserve Champion in world Class Fillies & Extended Futurities; and was then crowned the 2013 Egyptian Event Silver Junior Filly!!  Wow, what a filly!   Jasoorah found her forever home with Rosecrest Arabians in California just after the 2013 Egyptian Event.

A true companion, loving mother, proven brood mare, and outstanding pedigreed Egyptian Arabian, we are so grateful that Desi is part of our family and are excited to share her wonderful traits through her foals with the world.  She is in foal to The Bandera for a 2014 foal in April.
