The logo of our beautiful filly Grace
Our beautiful filly, Rasheedah Al Ameen (Grace), is now in training at Sandspur Ranch in Scottsdale, Arizona.  She is doing very well in her schooling with Tara Carpio and Ricardo Rivera and is destine to show out west prior to coming back to Kentucky to compete at The Egyptian Event in early June.  She’s a very special gal; the first filly by The Bandera+ a champion halter and performance stallion and by our lovely black mare Noir Desir.  We are very excited about her future.

She’s here!! Our 2014 foal has arrived and she is lovely! Â Noir Desir (By Alixir) gave us a wonderful gift Sunday evening–a chestnut filly by the majestic The Bandera. Â Lots of leg, lots of chrome (beautiful white markings), and lots of personality! Our little princess has captivated the farm and everyone who visits with her. Â She is a dream come to life! Â We have big plans for her in the show ring as she is nominated for the Egyptian Breeders Challenge class next year during the Pyramid Society’s big show The Event held annually at the Kentucky Horse Park and she is also nominated for the AHA Region 12 Spotlight classes next May in Perry, GA. Â Can’t wait to see her grow and shine in the years to come!!

You are what you eat. Â Who hasn’t hear that before. Â Well, it is true for horses too. Â Horses who roam free eat a variety of food stuff–shrubs, bark, weeds. Â They eat what their bodies need. Â In captivity we add to their diet feed supplements to compensate what they may not get from the forage we provide. Â Well at Al Ameen Arabians we are always looking for ways to feed more naturally to help keep our herd healthy and happy. Â So we are starting to sprout fodder. Â Taking whole grains and sprouting them into lush green mats of yumminess! Â If you are interested in learning more about feeding sprouts, check out this article from KER, The Kentucky Equine Research organization. Â The benefits of feeding sprouts far outweigh feeding whole grains. Â We are excited about our sprouting efforts and would love to have you visit our farm to see how it all works.

Dogs and cats play with toys but so do horses! Â Our wonderful gelding El Razeel (Rascal) loves to play with almost anything–ropes, rags, plastic trashcan lids, buckets, but toys are his most favorite. Â He was a good boy this year and Santa brought him this wonderful new toy. Â We hope you all had a great holiday season and enjoyed your time with family and friends just as much as Rascal enjoyed playing with his new toy!

On Saturday November 16th, Al Ameen Arabians hosted a Linda Tellington-Jones Workshop to explore methods of connecting with horses through touch and planned ground and riding exercises. Â We had a great group of participants–both human and equine–and Jayne Stewart, our practitioner, was very knowledgeable. Â Everyone had a blast! Â We love having visitors to the farm sharing our passion for horses, education, and food! Â More events to come in 2014–stay tuned!
